Is their an element of a desire for a public suicide in some cases of guy's going postal?
Some cases like Columbine and the Virginia tech massacres seemed to be about blood, but cases like this one http://www.reviewatlas.com/Featured/x562 898027/Standoff-in-Macomb-ends-with-alle ged-gunman-dead-no-one-else-hurt scream "here I am".

Yes it’s known as ‘going down in a blaze of glory’.

The public suicide is because a person wants to attract attention, consciously, or subconsciously, unless it was forced onto them by a external situation, such as threats etc.

What is the song on this commercial?
It’s a commercial for Hedonism.com, I think that’s what it’s called. It shows a guy pushing a dresser with a matress on top I think, and it plays a slow trumpet song that would be played at like a soldiers funeral, what is this song?!

I don’t know that ad, but the trumpet song that is played at a soldier’s funeral is called TAPS.

Why aren't the guys I'm interested in ever interested in me?
I’m 18 years old, and I’m a virgin (I didn’t want to just hook up with a random guy). I’ve been told by plenty of guys that I’m such a cool girl and that I have a great personality. I’m funny and smart. I admit I’m a bit chubby, but I’ve been told its not unattractive, plus I’ve been dieting and working out a lot lately trying to lose some weight. I have little self confidence and I’ve been thinking lately that this could be a contributing factor. Why aren’t the guys I’m interested in ever interested in me too? Is there something I’m doing wrong? What can I do to catch guys attention more?

It’s a matter of what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a committed relationship, then you should show the signs to guys that you are looking for a committed relationship. The problem isn’t in your self confidence or appearance, it’s sending the wrong messages to guys. If you’re interested in a guy, then work at trying to let him know how you feel about him. Maybe you’re just not acting in the way that makes that particular guy to notice you.

I did your mom | Feb 04, 2010

I know what you’re going though. I’m 22 and just got my first boyfriend at the wonderful age of 21. Almost every guy I’ve been interested in has not taken an interest in me. Maybe it’s because I’m a little old fashioned and didn’t try to pursue any of them. But anyways I just wanted to encourage you by saying that I’ve now found the love of my life and it was totally worth the wait. Don’t be down on yourself! And don’t settle for a random hook up!

Are there any specific clinics that test for MAP (mycobacteria avium paratuberculosis) for Crohn's?
Matador 88: Do you know?

This question was asked last year by someone else here but nobody had an answer.

I suspect this is the reason I may have crohns disease. I am going to ask my GI this afternoon but would like to ask you first.

You could get a bronchoalveolar levage (BAL) and get an acid fast culture plated on that sample, but this will be expensive, not covered by insurance and most likely inconclusive as many people are colonized with MAP and are asymptomatic, and if they have symptoms its because they have end-stage AIDS. A simple course of azithromycin should help erradicate if it is in there, but it would be cheaper and easier to just treat you.

If you really want to try something different for Crohn’s, I would try getting infected with a parasite. It will force your immune system to shift gears and hopfully alleviate your symptoms. I know you can buy some parasites online, but they are rather expensive too. Eating raw fish (not sushi, that is too clean) would be an easier way to get one.

Antonio Banderas- When did he become huge?
Okay, this is just not making any sense to me at all. I thought that when I saw Interview with the Vampire when it came out, I was very familiar with who Antonio Banderas was. Netflix says that movie came out in ‘94. But when I scroll down to earlier movies before that, it’s a few movies I’ve never even heard of and then a bunch of foreign films. I thought that when he was in Interview With the Vampire, he was HUGE, like as in just having done Desperado and Never Talk To Strangers, Four Rooms, Assassins, Evita, etc. But it says Interview came out in ‘94 and the rest of them came out AFTER Interview in ‘95 and ‘96! This is NOT tying in with my memory at ALL and I am wondering if maybe these movies DID come out before and Netflix is wrong or something??? How would I have known him so well? Maybe I saw Interview with the Vampire a long time after it was made and just don’t remember????

Little help? Thanks!

Philadelphia (1993) as Miguel Alvarez got him a lot of attention.

Mime School Dropout | Jan 14, 2010

he wasn’t really ‘huge’ until after using Exstenz. I don’t exactly know when he started using it, but his wife said He’s never been bigger.
Voodoo Grinch | Jan 14, 2010

Banderas’ acting career began at the age of 19, when he worked in small theatres during the Movida period. He first gained wide attention of the Spanish audience through starring on a set of films by director Pedro Almodovar between 1982 and 1990. These films included Labyrinth of Passion ("Laberinto de pasiones", 1982), Matador (1986), Law of Desire ("La Ley del Deseo", 1987), Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown ("Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios", 1988), and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! ("?Atame!", 1989), in which he performed his breakthrough role as "Ricky".He began appearing in American films; some of his earlier roles there included the 1992 film, The Mambo Kings, as well as a supporting role in the Oscar-winning 1993 film, Philadelphia. He appeared in several major Hollywood releases in 1995, including a starring role in the Robert Rodriguez-directed film, Desperado. In 1996, he starred alongside Madonna in Evita, an adaptation of the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice in which he played the narrator, Che, a role originally played on Broadway by Mandy Patinkin. He also made success with his role as the legendary Mexican masked swordsman, Zorro in the 1998 film The Mask of Zorro, for which he was the first Spanish actor to portray the character after over 80 years since Zorro’s creation.

Alongside of the movie Desperado, he has more recently collaborated with Robert Rodriguez who cast him in the Spy Kids film trilogy and the last installment of the "Mexico" trilogy Once Upon A Time In Mexico (in which he appeared with Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek). Banderas’ debut as a director was the poorly-received Crazy in Alabama (1999), starring his wife Melanie Griffith.

In 2003, he returned to the musical genre, appearing to great acclaim in the Broadway revival of Maury Yeston’s musical Nine, based on the film 8?, playing the prime role originated by the late Raul Julia. Banderas won both the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards, and was nominated for the Tony Award for best actor in a musical.[5] His performance is preserved on the Broadway cast recording released by PS Classics.

His voice role as Puss in Boots in Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third made the character popular on the family film circuit. In 2005, he reprised his role as Zorro in The Legend of Zorro, though this was not as successful as the original. In 2006, he starred in Take the Lead, a high school-set movie in which he played a real-life ballroom dancing teacher. That year, he directed his second film El camino de los ingleses (Summer Rain), and also received the L.A. Latino International Film Festival’s "Gabi" Lifetime Achievement Award on 14 October.[6] He hosted Saturday Night Live’s 600th episode (in season 31). The musical guest was Mary J. Blige. He performed a voice-over for a computer-animated bee which can be seen in the United States in television commercials for Nasonex,[7] an allergy medication, and was seen in the 2007 Christmas advertising campaign for Marks & Spencer, a British retailer.[8] He is being considered for the part of Hadrian in the in-production (as of February 2008) film Memoirs of Hadrian.[9]

He also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 6801 Hollywood Blvd in 2005.

Antonio is HUGE in Spain. Like Michael Jackson or Madonna would be in America. So, he began his carrer in Spain, with Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. Making many spanish low budget films. He gained notoriety when he appeared in Pedro Almodar’s Tie Me Down Tie Me Up.
The movie gained so much attention. Because of all the nudity and sex. (Like "Showgirls")

The director of Desperado saw the film and cast him in it.

Desperado became HUGE in Spain. And only well known, not a hit in America. And after that, Madonna had her eye on him. Remember Truth or Dare?

Then he was cast in Evita, along side Madonna. And that is when he became internationally well known. He is not famous. He is just well known and his movies have either bombed or faired OK.

Am I Officially Giving Up On Love?
I am a Hispanic guy, 23 years old and still a virgin. I have never had a girlfriend or kissed one before. I have tried to ask girls out, they reject me every time, and I keep getting stuck in the "Friend Zone" every time. This problem has caused me low self esteem, depression, bitterness, and disappointment. Every time I see a man hug or kiss his girlfriend or hold her hand in public, I envy them. I have a few friends that are beautiful women, every time they get dumped by their boyfriends they come crying on my shoulder and saying "where are the good men at?" If they only knew…that a good man is standing right next to them. I be telling myself things like "If this beautiful woman was my girlfriend, I would never do this to her".
I am tired of hearing things like "Someday you will meet her", "Someday this, someday that". I sometimes fear that I have been cursed to remain lonely for the rest of my life, but what did I do to deserve this!!! I have tried self help books, dressing well, writing them poetry, giving them roses, but nothing seems to work. I got tired of the BS and decided to do something.
Last week I went to see a high priced escort (amazing blonde). She thought I wanted to do "it" with her. She was surprised when I said "no" to her. I told her that I wanted to know what it was like to have a girlfriend. She told me that she could not believe that a good looking guy like me, had never had a girlfriend before, was still a virgin, and was seeking a girlfriend experience. I took her out to eat at a fancy Italian restaurant, we walked in the park, and we watched a movie together. Those 3 hours were like heaven to me, she made me feel like I was the most important man in her life, she treated me like some kind of king or Hollywood star, it was a wonderful experience.
I did not do "it" with her, I just wanted to know what it was like to have a girlfriend. I paid her $600 and we went our separate ways. I find myself drinking tequila and going to strip clubs a lot. I am growing a hard shell and starting not to care about "true love". I am bitter over my "problem" and feel disgruntled to the point, that I have decided that it might just be better for me to remain single for the rest of my life. I am tired of the BS and false hopes.
Maybe I am just overreacting, maybe this is just a young adult "phase" I am going through. Maybe I will find true love. Maybe I will never find her and she will forevermore elude me like the unproven existence of the unicorn or when hell freezes over or bulls start wearing panties. Maybe my soul is damned to be lonely for all eternity and remain an unfulfilled unhappy ghost forever. Maybe this, maybe that…but who cares?
I will finish earning my law degree and become a lawyer. I will stop drinking and engaging in destructive behaviors, I will reform. I will become the best man I can ever become, the best of the best. Those women who rejected me for those low life punks, I will prove to them that I am better, I am the alpha male. I am the real man. I am a good man. I will prove to women that good men still exist. This is my verdict, this is my mission, to become the best of the best, I will become rich, influential, and powerful. And every woman who rejected me will regret their decision for the rest of their lives.

For Example: Guys, if you and Megan Fox or some really hot Hollywood actress were dating in high school, before that person was even a movie star. Let’s say that you dump her and trade her for someone else. Years after you graduate from high school, that "girl" you rejected became famous, rich, and powerful. I am sure you guys will regret that "decision" for the rest of your lives. I hope that women who rejected me, will feel the same way in the future.

http://www.myspace.com/thedanielaguilar

Hey buddy, slow down… unfortunately you were going after women who didn’t find you as the right guy. Maybe you should go after a different type of women. If you have a type you are attracted to, I’m sure that is the type you peruse. Unfortunately, that isn’t the type of women who is attracted to you.
My old boss always complained that he couldn’t find a women to marry, all he wanted was to get married and have kids. But he always chose the same type of women… short, blond, big boobs. I told him one day, you need to start dating OTHER types of women. He is now married to a brunette with small boobs.

Also, you need to ask a girl out right away and not become friends first. That is ALWAYS a mistake and puts you in, "the friend zone." You try to be nice and become friend, then you ask them out, but by then it’s already too late. Next, you CAN’T be a girl’s shoulder to cry on, by that point, she is never going to date you, because you are in, "the friend zone." This is different if the girl is already your girlfriend.
Instead, when you see a girl you like, ASK HER OUT! Don’t get to know her, buy her a drink, then get her number. Don’t ask her to "hangout," Tell her that you like her and want to get to know her. Tell her you want to take her out on a date. Next, if a girl you like, is trying to talk to you about her problems, stop her, tell her that you care for her, but can’t be there for her, she has girlfriends for the crying bit.

Plus, 23 isn’t bad… I could start dating when I was 16. I didn’t have my first date until I was 19. That is when I had my first boyfriend. A year and a half later we broke up, for no good reason, other than he thought I could do better. A year later he was dating and then got engaged to a short, fat, ugly, hepatitis C infested, unemployed waitress, single mother from a one night stand, self proclaimed B*TCH.

Life isn’t fair… but you should already know that. I could say it will happen, "someday," but it won’t unless YOU do something about it. Stop playing the SWEET guy and start being the CONFIDENT guy. Don’t treat women badly, but don’t be their friend first either. If you want something, go for it.

My current BF has REALLY bad self esteem and he is handsome, sexy, and desirable. He thinks he is short, chubby, and loosing his hair… NONE OF WHICH IS TRUE! We had worked together for about 1 year and a half, but our paths only crossed once, for about 5 second, then for a week straight I saw him everyday. He ended up coming over to my place, because my roommate invited him and his best friend over. I thought he was sexy right away, we were all talking about how handsome he was, even saying it to him. My friend ended up calling him after he dropped off his friend, to see if he would come back and hangout with me (I just got out of a 2 year relationship, because he still wasn’t sure about me… I wasn’t looking for anything). We watched "50 First Dates" together on the couch. I got cold and was huddling in a blanket and he asked if I wanted to cuddle with him. I said sure so we cuddled during most of the movie. At one point, he even leaned in and kissed me. IT WAS AMAZING!

We didn’t know each other, he didn’t become my friend first. He took risks and asked me to cuddle… needless to say, he got the girl.

Dan, I’m a fairly beat up, kinda creepy looking guy. Most people that talk to me think I’m nuts.

I managed to have Barbarella for 12 years, since I was sixteen (sophomore year), and then married to her last October.

If a woman can put up with me (especially for that length of time) then you sure as hell can find someone.

When those women come crying on your shoulder, why don’t you care for them then? They are vulnerable at that point and you could really make them feel better by talking to them, hugging them and being there for more than just a shoulder to cry on. You are so young, I wish you would stop worrying about it. A lot of people your age don’t even know what love is yet. They think they do but they don’t. They don’t know that the beauty of youth will disappear. Beauty is in a person’s heart and soul, it’s in their living, their mind, and their spirit. Sometimes that is not known until a person is a lot older. People are foolish in their youth. I think you are heading in the right direction when you say you are going to get your education first. Go for it head on and totally immersed and you will be better off. Someone will love you for who you really are deep inside, not superficially. You don’t need to set your worth on whether you are a virgin or not, that is really not important in the end. I know it’s important to you now, but you will learn. Just so you know, there are many, many women who will treat you like a king for money, and for a lot less than $600. Did you ever try it with some of those lonely friends of yours? I bet they would do all that lady did with you just to go out with you and you wouldn’t have to pay them anything. Did you ask them? Women don’t know how a guy feels unless he says it. Open up to them. Good luck.

Where can I find DVD's or VHS's of quasi -classic French and Italian films of the 60's and 70's?
There were dozens of endeariing moves during the 60’s and 70’s such as "Dear Detective," "Come Have Some Coffee with Us" and "What Now My Love" that are nowhere to be found. There are also some strange works like "Investigation of a Citizien Above Suspicion" and "Bird with the Crystal Plumage" that have disappeared in the U.S. (as far as I can determine).
Many of the films in this category are from noted directors, feature top performers and extraordinary soundtracks. There are even several Academy Award contenders, yet they are unknown and unavailable here.
Can anyone suggest a source or vendor?

In the UK there is Moviemail, which stocks vast numbers of this type of film.

Be warned though, they are often region 2 (or sometimes region 0). NTSC region 1 are not available except in very rare cases. Why? Apparently because your tastes are so rare in the USA it isn’t worthwhile distributing them. So get a multi-region DVD player.

I also noted that you gave all the titles in English. Most of these will be French or Italian titled, with English sub-titles (only rarely an alternate English sound track). Why? See above.

But if like us you really do love these movies, then all this won’t matter.

Enjoy.
